Try trisodium phosphate (TSP). It is available in most hardware stores and paint stores and is a lot less expensive than rig wash. It is like a strong version of Spick and Span. Painters use it on the outside of houses to remove all the dirt and mildew before painting. It is pretty harsh stuff so read and follow the directions on the box. Be sure to thoroughly rinse it off your truck so it doesn't damage the finish. If you wash your truck with it and then immediately rinse it off it won't hurt the finish but leaving on and not rinsing thoroughly can cause it to dull the finish.

There is a chemical called "Sugar soap" as used by painters to remove nicotine stains off the ceilings of pubs. A painter said it was great for cleaning "rigs" (UK) It obviously has a chemical name, but it is not sodium carbonate.

If you're looking for a great de-greaser (which I think you are) mix coke (the drink) with equal parts water and spray. All the Coca Cola trucks are cleaned this way. Works great to de-grease coveralls too!
