I think only serious music is timeless. All of the popular stuff come and go, but you can still hear pieces from the 16th century!

I really can't answer this because 'dflo_rinda ' has nailed it so well...But I have an opinion too..its just swings and merry-go-rounds...I listen to what I want to listen to..whether it be Captain Beefheart bootleg "A Carrot is as close to a Diamond as a Rabbit Ever Gets" to an old Radio Birdman LP or The Streets.Everything has always deteriorated till something else gives some rejuvenation to the Crapification of Music as envisaged by the entire record companies.Sounds like another depression to me...is DUE and,for some, none too soon.LOL.

It was timeless and great... Look at the Stones, still going after all these years, and still loved... Eventually, history will repeat its'self, who knows, maybe another Beach Boys??? Moody Blues ??? Rock & Roll still rules after all these years... I hope when I die, I will get to meet all the greats who were around when I was a kid, and express my appreciation for their talents. What a concert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Still is.
Today's music only needs a big face lift but the guys who do it haven't yet noticed the wrinkles.

(Shhh! Big secret!)
