I don't see the day where computers replace all books in the world. Of course ebooks are nice but I always prefer a physical book. They are less harmful to my eyes.

I believe that to some extent they could. Consider, though, the many problems involved with first transferring all the pages of all the text books in the world to a computer. There would also be the problem of reading them. Would U want to sit at your computer all day reading? How about if U wanted to read your self to sleep at night? might be quite awkward having a computer in bed with U. Studies would really be tough if U didn't have a computer. I can think of many more problems with the idea but for the sake of a good brain workout, I'll let U think of some.

Yes, e-books are becoming more popular everyday. Older books would need to be Transcribed to Computer which takes a long time. But, newer books can already be made e-books from the start. So, over time e-books will become more and more. Plus they require less space. Regular Books will most likely be around for many Decades as there is much demand for this type of Media.

Great question. I would say no. Books are much more portable and initimate. One can annotate a book, write their thoughts and feelings, and merge with the writing. Text on a computer is more fleeting, less palpable. Books will always be around. My wife is never without her latest copy of a romance thriller. Try putting that in your lap top when the batteries go out.

Yes they can.
They can replace textbooks as well as other books. The only way this is possible is that it should be done effectively.
In case of under-developed and developing countries like India. China, African countries, etc. People are facing problems in getting two times meal. They have difficulty in educating their children. In such cases, computer buying is beyond their dreams and using is far beyond.
It can be possible in countries like america, england and Japan, but it should be restricted to the Higher education only.
The skill to write on paper is the best one. We should try to maintain it.

Now computers let you do what you've been doing with a hardcopy book, like marking, making notes, comments, underlining, etc. And even more like quick copy paste ;)
But we are used to books starting with picture books, scrap books, fiction novels, study material, etc.
It would be sometime to happen, like listening to MP3 in 2" sticks or Mobiles, rather than Hi-Fi Systems.
Yes you would need to recharge, but try reading a book in a dark place.
It is a question of time. Change is inevitable

No ~ Books are previous as quickly as they're revealed. desktops could be as much as date often with the latest information. greater value-effective for the mummy and father and the college district. there is not any documented information that TVs or desktops has ever broken anybodies eyes. Sitting in front of a working laptop or pc and getting eye rigidity isn't any different than analyzing a e book and getting eyestrain. See; Penn & Teller, Season 7 "Stranger threat" one element to hold around quite of a e book bag packed with heavy books. not greater returned aches for infants. No lost papers.

Maybe in the matter of research this would be true but it is still a few centuries later when all print media will die and the electronic word will take its place. But for now Books are here to stay.
