A soldier during the American Revolutionary War (aka the 7 yrs war) in the 1770's. He betrayed troop movements and strategy to the British side while pretending to be a good revolutionary. So if someone calls you a "benedict arnold" they're calling you two-faced or a traitor.
Not to be confused with Eggs Benedict.

Benedict Arnold was a general during the American Revolution, not the 7 years War (French and Indian War), or the Civil War. Initially he was a brilliant American General who fought valiantly and even lost a leg. He was insturmental in the Lake Champlain Battle, but didn't get the credit he was due. He later defected to the British, because he felt he wasn't respected in the US.

Benedict Arnold was an American General in the Civil war and he played an important role in the Civil war. No one's really sure why he crossed over to the Brits but it's believed that it was because he wasn't given any real credit for all of his success during the war. So he went ahead and tried to sell american war plans and whatnot but his messenger was caught and he got away to the brits and thats about it. But if you want more info I'm pretty sure somone else ou there can help you somemore.

He would have been a great American, if he would have just stayed loyal. Unfortunately he got bitter because he found out that congress wouldn't repay him for his expenditures during the Revolution.

He was a very good soldier, but became jealous and turned into a traitor.
But at least he did fight for his country for awhile. That's a lot more that Bill Clinton.

Clinton was so afraid of being drafted that he became a bed-wetter.
