I like Clive Barker and the kind of horror that he writes. I have not been able to find another author that is similar to him. I like to read horror fantasy, and like Clive Barker's writings, but he has not written anything new in quite a while. So does anyone have any suggestions about new authors. Imajica and Weaveworld by Clive Barker were excellent books.

I don't think there is anybody else thet writes like Clive Barker. Steven King have some good horror stories like someone said already, but it's pretty much different type of horror. Also there is Lovecraft with his stories - also different from Barker, but good horror. I have read some horror antology and I did't realy find much horror writers. And the book Weaveworld is so different from everything else I read and I don't think that similar books exist. It is not realy a horror, nor a fantasy book and nor SF. It reminds me more on fairy tail - but not Disney type, but the real fairy tail that is used to frighten little children, with all kinds of cruelty - and not nessecary happy ending.

I don't like horror much, but I think Dean Koontz writes some of the best; I've actually enjoyed a few of his books.

Stephen King's earlier work is good. Nothing from the past 5 years, cause I think he's gone crazy. Also Dean Koontz before he went religious.

Try William Sleator...it's kinda dated, but it's all psychological horror with a sci-fi twist and AWESOME cover pictures.
