Neither. It works best when the TA is connected directly to the gateway. All VOIP TAs prioritize the VOIP traffic to ensure you get good performance.

If you put it on a wireless system you're at the mercy of the traffic loads on the wireless unless you have another way to prioritize the VOIP packets. Although that can be done it's well beyond the capability of the average user.
