I found this site before (http://www.uglynet.com)... and I thought it was really exciting. But then someone said to me that it is bad to promote ugliness. I still think it is good. Maybe some people will feel better if they can be in a club with ugly people.
Should I listen to my friend? Or is it OK to be ugly and proud? I don't know what to think anymore. What do you think?

I think that the uglier you feel on the inside, the uglier you feel on the outside- I've met many women who were stunning to look at, but HATED the way they looked because of emotional troubles they kept pent-up inside.

I think it's a shame that so many people focus the concept of 'ugliness' as an external thing.

You get what you get when you're born, and unless you're game enough to go under the knife to change it, that's how it's always going to be- I think it's great that people embrace the way that they look and learn to love their true selves... the only unproductive thing that I think a website like this brings is that it tugs the attention back to their external appearance, rather than lifting these people up on the inside- just because they are what our society deems as 'ugly', they should not be shoved off to a reclusive society, like a bunch of diseased freaks- they should feel comfortable sharing their photos and profiles on websites, surrounded by "normal" people with normal, healthy self-esteems, it would be far healthier for them than a place where everyone sits around focusing on how "ugly" they are.

This isn't a one-sided argument either though-- while I don't agree with people sitting around arguing who is the ugliest, it's equally as unhealthy to spend your hours on a website where people fight for who is the most physically attractive... it's all shallow and meaningless.

I am not sure by what you mean as Ugly....If you are talking about not being aesthetically appealing to the eye and if so then that word of choice is for those that do not have the intellect to realize that everything on this planet has a sense of beauty...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...a sense of ugliness to one person may be beautiful to another....a sense of ugliness means you object to natures method of distinction

Are you kidding? I live in a podunk hick town in Missouri where everyone is related by birth and incest... if you think you know what UGLY is... you ain't seen NOTHING compared to the rednecks around here. Their IQ's are less then the length, in millimeters, of their cigarettes and some of the green teeth crowd look like a picket fence when they smile.

You should be proud of yourself because of who you are and not what you look like.
