Meta-tags are no longer used to determine the page rank on search engine site returns (too many sites used to them to mislead the search engines).

Google's algorithym is very complex, but you need to be sure that you have non-graphic text, it must be a text/html/word/pdf text for google to detect it. Also, the more sites that link to your site, the better the page rank.

if your website is up for awhile the search engine bots will find it. you may want to submit the sites to the web search pages. type in the name you want it to appear under and then click on recommend site or it should say something similar. if its a common word, then you may need to pay someone to get it up there in the search results. if not then you may be able to submit it yourself and see it. also, the coding on your page and meta tags will affect whether the search bots will find it, so do a search for that in yahoo and see how you can change the code on your page to attract more search engines.
