Try annualcreditreport.com

By federal law all credit reporting agencies must make your credit report available to you once a year free of charge. This site will give you free access to the three major reporting agencies.

In the US, the 3 major credit agencies MUST provide you your credit report at least once each year at no cost to you.

But YOU must request it.

There's a website you could do it from;

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/

Somehow I never got it to work.

But you can Google it and find out more about it.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=free+credit+report

However, you CAN download the information you need to ask for and a sample request letter that you can follow, and send it to them by mail. I got mine in a few weeks.

But, it only gives you your basic report - NOT your rating. and the rating is VERY important for you to know if you are seeking credit. And it's good to know even if you're not.

i think its freecreditreport.com you have to look for the "free" buttons and they try to sell you a report. the actual score costs a few bucks but the history is free.
