Hey i finally run into another fellow pica person !!!!!! I use to eat cornstarch , laundry starch , chalk was my favorite ! You know when you eat things of that nature it is a condition called PICA . You can go on line and look it up . Take care .

I use cornstarch as a thickener.....put a little in some water and mix it into soups and stews. It causes a chemical reaction that makes the consistency of the dish thicker. BTW - Make sure whatever you mix it with is near boiling, but not too hot....otherwise the cornstarch batter will cook and won't incorporate. Too cold and the reaction will not occur.
