no you dont have to wait until your baby is born to do a dna test, but generally they do, unless you request it or the doctor feels it is necessary to check for downs or some other disorder.

don't do it while ur still pregnant because the dna testing to a unborn child can kill it, as they have to take samples from the atomic fluid it is really dangerous and deffiently not worth it. wait until the baby is born, theres a chance that by looking at the facial features you'll know the father, but really don't do it while ur carry the child there are so many risk ect invovled and its also alot more expensive compared to the test after birth

You could do a amino but its not worth it just to know your kids dna. Wait until you have them they can do it the same day you have the baby just swabs there mouth

No,
Tests can be carried out on the embryonic fluid.
For those people that said 'Yes, you have to wait', how do you think doctors screen for genetic illnesses such as Downs Syndrome, or Cystic Fibrosis.

What kind of DNA test? There are several genetic and chromosomal tests that can be done on an embryo or on a fetus in utero.

I would wait until the baby is born.

Amniocentisis has something like a 1 in 200 chance of miscarriage to do it prior to the birth.

As soon as its born. They can swab the inside of the baby's cheek. Its all the DNA they need from the baby.

NOW YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT, BUT I THINK IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE TO DO IT BEFORE IT IS BORN.THAT AND I WOULD BE KIND OF SCARED HAVING A NEEDLE POKED INTO MY BABY IN MY STOMACH.
