How do you mash a swede?

EDIT: Roxie - I just realized that a swede is a turnip! Never heard of one before! Over here, mash can mean flirt, sexual innuendo, that sort of thing. Oh well. I still think flirting is more interesting than turnips ;-D

Exactly the same as you would potatoes - but make sure they're really well cooked.

Crushing them is really yummy. Cook them, then use a fork to crush, with a bit of salt, black pepper and maybe a touch of butter.

I chop my swede into small cubes, and slice up some carrots, then boil them together until they are soft, then mash them together with some butter, WITH A POTATO MASHER.

I add potato's butter salt and pepper (boil them both first) its lovely yum or boiled carrots and swede or all three mashed together, yummy

cut it into small pieces before cooking, then use your usual potato masher!
Or, after cooking, tip into your food processor with the chopping blades and whizz it for a few moments. This does make more washing up though, and probably leaves more un-eaten in the processor bowl.
