Well, first of all I'd have to find out who the heck Materazzi is what the "Zidane incident" was before I could make any verdict! Since I have no information, I'd throw the case out of court!

Verdict is Materazzi should be given no less than 5 million euros that should come out of Zidane's account. Additionally, Zidane should be sentenced to exile in France and should never be allowed to play football competitively ever again.

You know what I wouldn't even punish Zidane because he punished himself! He lost the world cup, many people hate him now, and he has a horrible memory for his last game. Good Job Zidane!
As for Materazzi i'd award him with a medal!

OK if i understand in France the one who's offended is the guilty.
I mean by reading the question and the answers I'm sure no one in France would condemn zizou
But in the rest of the world physical aggression is universally considered by far more harmful than an offense
If it is like that it should be very dangerous to live in France nowadays

I would make them both spend a season with Barnet FC then I would leave the court, catch a plane to Italy and join the party because I am sure that people are still celebrating Italy's FOURTH World Cup win!!!
