once they've torn it, just go in. It's their way of preventing you (for instance) passing your ticket to someone else so they can get in for free, or using it to see a second film at a multi-screen cinema. Also they can count their halfs so they know how many people went to each screen.

Do you have to buy ticket before going in to the cinema? I never know it...
So maybe dont buy ticket next time, just buy popcorn so they cant tear your popcorn...
