When the Doors burst on to the music scene in 1967 I was crazy about them. They, along with Janis Joplin and a few others pushed music into another dimension; one where the possibilities were almost unlimited.
Here it is, almost 40 years later and when you talk about groups who had a major impact, The Doors are still right there at the top of the list. And not only did they effect the music, they opened up new frontiers in the way music could be performed.
Their best song? It's hard to choose between " Riders On The Storm " and " L.A. woman " . . . some other good ones too.
It's funny, I don't like them nearly as much now as I did back in the '60s . . . but that's probably just because I'm getting old.
