“That some should be rich, shows that others may become rich, and, hence, is "just" encouragement to industry and enterprise.” – Abraham Lincoln

Capitalism and Marxism
Capitalism is highly moral in principle. You find an opportunity, you take a risk, and it works or it does not. Even if you work for another, if you work hard and save hard, then when you retire, you will have a comfortable life. Parents, the schools, religion, and philosophy all need to teach children and adults how to do this and live successful and responsible lives.

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded, here and now, then and there, are the work of an extremely small minority [capitalists], frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by [so called] right-thinking people. When ever this tiny minority is kept from creating, as sometimes happens, and is driven out of a society, the people slip back into an abject poverty.” – Robert A. Heinlein

Canaries are used in the coal-mines to know if the atmosphere is safe from poisonous and explosive gases. In a sense, capitalists are societies canaries. If they cannot freely function, or do not exist, then the existing societal atmosphere is poisonous to life.

“When you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.” – Peter Drucker

If capitalism exists, we have the greatest amount of liberty.
