Toddler formula is for babies 9 months to 24 months. It wouldn't hurt to wait 2 more weeks until the baby is 9 months to try it. When you do decide to try it, only give one feeding a day of the toddler formula so you can test for allergies or tummy upset. Do this for about a week, increasing the amount of feedings little by little.

There isn't generally enough vitamins/minerals in the toddler formula to use a sole source of milk. You must still be using breastmilk or an infant formula, right? you can ask your doctor about it and there are alot of snacks/foods that your baby should be able to start eating soon. (just becareful.. there are some weird things in some of the gerber snacks allergy wise like soy in almost everything!)

No, toddler formula is for toddlers.
If you think you're child is missing out on nutrients because of her allerigies, ask your doctor to prescribe a baby vitamin supplement for your daughter. This will come in liquid form, and you can have the pharmacy add a flavor if you think your daughter won't take it.
Also, if your baby is on regular formula, she should be getting the nutrients she needs.
The person best suited to answer your questions, however, is your child's pediatrician.

they should not drink toddler formula, however they do make vitamin drops for infants if you are concerned they are missing something. baby formula will give most babies what they need and at 8 1/2 months they should be eating baby foods as well/

a baby of the age isn't a toddler, they are still a baby. my son has a milk allergy and drinks soy formula. the bulk of vitamins and calories should be coming from baby food now anyway.

I believe that the doctor's recommend staying with the infant formula until 12 months. But I would suggest that you consult with him mostly due to the allergies that you baby has. That should be given only with professional advice that maybe Yahoo can't really offer.

Allergies has nothing to do with missing out. If you are feeding her an infant formula, it will have the nutrition she needs. Talk to your doctor before switching to a different formula to be sure its what your child can tolerate and for her health.

No your baby cannot have toddler formula, if your child has allergies, speak to a paediatrician / dietician about what is most suitable.

My son was on whole regular milk at about five months. By the way, your 8 1/2 month old isn't a toddler, she is a baby.
