Any idea of some great board games to play with a 9 yr old?

I wouldn't recommend any of the games that were availble when I was that age. They're old. You might want to try some newer games. Rat-a-Tat-Cat and Gulo Gulo are both are age-appropriate and playable with 2+ players. If you have at least 4, you could also try Snorta! or The Bucket King. You can look these games up (and buy them) at http://www.funagain.com/control/main. They're more expensive than the games you'll find at Toys R Us, but you get what you pay for.

Monopoly, Trouble, Clue, Operation, Chess, Checkers, Uno, Dominoes, Spoons, Pit, Royal Rummy, Cribbage. There are tons of old, classic, can't be beat board games.

I am 26 years old and i will always remember my aunt penny playing games with me as a child. It was just fun and my favorite game was Uno. My favorite board game was Scrabble.

Snake & Ladder, Ludo, sometimes even Twister. A 9 yr old may like these.

Sorry, cause when your opponent would send one of your pieces back to home, there was always a way to get back at them.
Some other good board games are guestures, monoploy, break the ice, and ants in my pants.

Raputers was a dinosure team up tag like game where u had ur own territories that u had to stay in and try and caputer the other team.
