ive some how managed to save it, tried using vlc media player to use it but its saved in segments with no sound?? i would like to be able to burn copys of it later too

try a program called "handbrake" This is the one I'm using for ripping DVDs and it also makes the movie smaller so it doesn't take too much space away from your harddrive

copy all the contents of the disk by copying and pasting them to the destination folder and you will be done!!!!
