now, it should be the ferrari p4/5 which is basically the ENZO minus about 650 pounds!! Yeah thats right, makes the Enzo sound fat huh?
this is not a production car, rather a tuned version of the Enzo, which is specially made at ferrari, but it is entirely street legal.
imagine driving to 60 in 3.2 seconds, then you decide to kick out 4or 5 of your friends in weight!!! (or a big bear in the trunk)...
the power to weight ratio alone would make this the fastest STREET LEGAL CAR.....
i mean come on, your top fuel dragster can run a 1/4 mile the fastest...BUT, they use up all of their fuel in that 1/4 mile, and the engine needs to be rebuilt after every race.....its not a case of miles per gallon anymore, rather, miles per rebuild.....and if thats not enough to disqualify a dragster, then perhaps a trip to any race course which involves A TURN instead of a straight line.
a true sports car handles all dynamics of driving well, not just one(such as 1/4 mile acceleration)...try a hairpin turn, or drifting, or braking, or accellerating around corners......just a few of the things that make a complete sports car....check it out:

Well, the fastest production car in the world is the Swedish made Koenigsegg CCR. Top speed in excess of 245mph and 0 - 60 in 3.2 seconds.
http://www.koenigsegg.com/
In terms of the fastest car ever, that would be a "car" with a jet engine that set the landspeed record. Currently (2006) it is the Thrust SSC which reached 763mph.

fastest would surely be a landspeed record rocket car of some variety, fastest production vehicle would be the Bugatti Veyron(252 mph with a quad supercharged W-16 engine (http://www.bugatti.com), followed closely by the Mclaren F1.

Beats the crap outta a Viper, I'll tell ya that.
Not street legal...you get these engineers building these huge things that they run once. What's the point?
