Marni Nixon used to dub in the voices for a RAFT of actors who cant carry a tune in a Gucci handbag. As lovely as female leads were in the movies, they couldnt all sing as well as they could act. So she was kept employed, dubbing in high notes and fixing inconsistencies in the actors voice.

If you remember the singer Andy Williams, he was ALSO hired once to dub in the singing voice of a female actor in a movie, but I can't remember the name of it.

Audrey Hepburn's voice was that of veteran Hollywood singer Marni Nixon who also doubled for the singing voice of Natalie Wood in West Side Story.

Hope this helps
