been trying to sell things on ebay, and i understand you have to pay sellers fees, but i didnt realise it was so much. i have only been using it a week and i ended up paying £12.36 sellers fees. i sold one item at £8 so i havent made any money at all! I put a ring on and fraudsters kept "buying it" so it was automatically taken off when someone buys something. i kept having to put it back on, and ebay said if i put it an item unpaid, i will be reimbursed for the pament i have made. why is it do much? and how do people actually make money off ebay witout paying so much just to put it on. its really made me mad! help!

I know how you feel, if I were you, I should say..quit ebay and put adverts in your local newspaper or go to a car boot sale..unless your willing to pay for these fees then maybe do one of the above. Good Luck!

you will see the cost for each advert at the bottom of the page when you fill in the sell pages, each item is charged and that charge is on the side of the feature. You can put an item on for as little as 99p. How come fraudsters kept buying it, all you ahve to do is to report it as an unpaid item, and it can be relisted for FREE. , you cant set criteria for buyers unless you have a feedback score of at least 10. I've sold no end of items, from £1 to over £400 on e bay, and only had to people not pay, each time I reported them, and got a free relist. Yes paypal makes quite high charges, but at least you know you will get your money, so it's woth it for that. I will ONLY buy via Paypal as I know I can egt my money back if they don't send the goods.

Hi,

i sell loads of stuff and ebay and make a profit. I can't see how you could have £12 fees for an £8 item??

Are you choosing colour schemes and bold fonts, extra piccies? if so then that will cost you more.

Set the buyers points required to 10 if you are getting targetted by scallies...

Yes I found that at first. Its ok if you sell on the first go and get a good price but its not always that simple is it.The key I think is always having something that sells well.e.g video games and consoles, otherwise you don't get anywhere and end up loosing out.I'm sorry I cant be of any help but I do understand ,the fees are a little high.

Whatever fearures you have used to "enhance" your listing, there is NO WAY your fees should be anywhere near to that. If ebay think your item is sold when infact it isn't due to a non payer. Then report this to ebay as a non paid for item.

It's hard to make money with ebay & paypal fees being so high.I've stopped selling on ebay for that reason.Paypal does not re-imburse buyers if the amount is less than £15.Thieves.

they don't fee you till a month when you've bought your products. it really is fairly exciting to promote issues. I suggested initiating with something stupid and little so when you're making a mistake, it really is no longer a large deal. you basically want to coach slightly previously you fairly commence with promoting the sturdy stuff so that you comprehend what you're doing. sturdy success i love EBAY!

ebay charge for listing any item any number of times, see the ebay help pages for more info on the charges, hey if you dont like the charges you can always try other sites like e-bid or the free ads.
