i have a asus a8n-deluxe what bois should i have at the moment it is 1006 is that the updated one. also if not could some one tell me how to do it step by step as im by no means very good just avarage.

If the current BIOS works OK there is no need to update it. Updates are usually issued to resolve hardware compatibility issues. If there are no issues there is no need to even consider asking this question.
Flashing the BIOS can be a risky business. If the procedure is not completed correctly it can stop the board from working. Since you are not 'good just avarage' (apart from your spelling, which is abysmal) it may end in disaster.
Why do you want to risk it?

Go to http://support.asus.com and search for a8n.
Download the BIOS flash tool for your operating system (windows xp, 2000, 98).
Download the newest BIOS version (1016) from the same page.
Start the flash utility and follow the steps. Make sure you remember where you saved the BIOS upgrade when the program asks for it.
