I think you could learn a lot from your friend.

Sinead has internalized homomphobia, just like how some black people may hate the fact that they were born black etc..your friend has a choice to love her for her music and nothing more. Just as a straight person can love a gay singer's talent but not like the fact that the singer is gay.

Is this the ordained Sinead O' Connor, the same one who ripped up a picture f the Pope on TV when she started one of her pipey performances? She's changed her tune.

I've heard it said you should love what people do, but seperate that from who they are.

I like Hitlers' landscapes.

I guess it would have to be considered a personal freedom. Just because you are gay doesn't mean you should hate everyone that isn't. It works both ways just like racism. I am not gay but you have the right to dislike whom ever you want. You will find that people that are deeply religious tend to be anti-gay. My personal view is that we should all learn to accept it for what it is and move on.

I think Sinead is a bit of a fruitcake, so anything she says should be taken with a degree of sympathy.

Everyone has a right to there beliefs as long as they do not harm anyone - I think that if you feel hurt by what someone believes then you hav ethe right to not 'line their pockets' but if you are not bothered then the choice is up to you.

just because you dislike a certain person for their beliefs doesn't actually mean that everything they do should be a problem to you try to chill out abit and let people be themselves just think if we all felt the same about the same things then wouldn't life be boring

I won't support anyone that openly discriminates against gays.

I like her music, I'm very surprised she said that about gays considering a few years ago she said she was gay and then she was bisexual, and belonging to the same church as fr pat Buckley who is gay????????????????????????????????????????

Heh. I thought she was gay... You learn something new everyday...

And if she really does have an attitude like that, I wouldn't buy her cds even if I did like her music.
