How are the classes? Are the degrees respected? I have heard it is like buying a degree, does anyone else feel that way?

I went for 3 years and completed a bachelors of business management. They allowed me to transfer in a lot of my
previous college credit. I took one class at a time, classes are 5 weeks long. You can usually download the textbooks so you don't have to buy books. There are a lot of papers and a lot of emphasis on learning team experiences where you work with 3 or 4 other students through most of the class to complete 3 or 4 collaborative team projects as well as individual assignments of your own. Classroom discussion is in the form of a newsgroup. I too thought it was going to be like buying a degree but it is far from it. People dropped out of most every class I was in when the work became to much for them. You get to meet and share experiences with people from all walks of life and from all over the world.

The classes are administered through Outlook Express or via a website on their servers, though it is much easier to attend via Outlook Express.

For online students, you can expect to post a comment or response to on-going discussions with 15 or less students and an instructor 4 out of 7 days a week minimum.

Many are worried initially about getting a degree online, which they should. Just because a school says they are accreditted means nothing, you must really look to see if it is regionally or nationally accreditted (Regional being highest). UoP holds a regional accredidation.

I can promise you that once you start the program, you will see that this is not buying a degree because the courses can be difficult at times and will require a committment.

The instructors hold their doctorate or masters, and have been working in the field typically for 10 - 20 years, with a minimum of 2 years to be hired.

If you are looking for additional information, you can call their number at 800-366-9699. From that point, you will receive an enrollment counselor to discuss your situation.
