The Jama Masjid, reputed to have been built by a Moorish architect during the late 14th or early 15th century who imitated the great mosque in Cordoba, Spain. The mosque is unique in India, with a huge dome covering the whole area, four smaller ones at the corners, and 75 smaller still all the way around.

Built by Feroze Shah, the Masjid resembles the great mosque of Cordova in Spain; its architecture is typically Persian with stilted domes and narrow entrances. The four shapely domes at the corners are dominated by a larger, fifth dome atop the central bay.
The mosque's unique feature is the roof which covers the entire courtyard and contains 68 domes which resemble a collection of gigantic pots
