Jesus was said to have modernised and refined the old testament commandments so who should do it now and what should the commandments be?

Thinking people do not need some orders and commands from someone who claims to have them from any god!
In the 21st century, we have to understand that no prophet nor god will replace our minds!

It should be the same as it has ever been. Jesus never modernised or refined the commandments. Rather he fulfiiled them to the last iota.

1. Respect other peopls belifes
2. pop idol is wrong

4. Dont go shopping on a sunday have some respect
5. Try not to get your parents put in jail, and maybe stop whining for a car

Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was and replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your strength, and with all you mind, and the second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself
a little further on He said; All the law and the prophets are based on these two.
I think that qualifies as updating the Ten Commandments.

1. Do not listen to politicians, especially American ones, cos you'll end up in deep s*it.
2. Do not covet a politician's lifestyle, cos you'll still end up in deep sh*t.
3. Do not invade other countries on the pretext that they are about to ruin the world. Especially when all you want is their oil so that you can ruin the world's climate even further. then we'll all be in deep sh*t.
4.Do not work and collect unenmployment benefit. My taxes are high enough.
5. Do not covet thy neighbour's wife, even if she has a nice ***.
6.Love thy neighbour- but don't let her husband find out.
7. Don't take the P out the beer in your pub- it needs all the strength it can get!
8. Do not worship pop idol. it is deep sh*t!
9. make sure your anti-virus is up-to-date.
10. remember that re-booting in win xp means restarting not kicking. Why should you dent the case 10 times a day?

Can we improve these? I think not.
And by the way, Christ didn't modernized or refine the Old Testament Commandments, He summed them up in two statements. The first five are covered under His first statement, and the other five are covered under His last statement.

To have 10 commandements means you have to believe in Jesus as your spiritual leader.
