How exciting for you! And congratulations on getting yourself out of your rut and having the courage to live a new life.
The first thing I would recommend is to journal. In addition to just making yourself more aware about yourself, it will help you focus on your goals for you life. Ask yourself some important questions such as:
1) What do I imagine my ideal life to be like?
2) What should I cultivate in my life to make me happier?
3) What are some problem areas I see in my life that I want to change? How do I want to change them?
4) What are my values and what is important to me?
5) Who or what inspires me? Why? How?
This is by no means a comprehensive list, but it should get you started. "Change" is too big on its own, so this should help you focus your thoughts and energies more.
Once you're focused, your steps to change should be clearer. I'm not saying that it will be an easy journey, but it should be fun, exciting, and ultimately rewarding. There will be frustrating points along the way, to be sure, but go back and re-imagine living your ideal life and picture how happy you are. Also, re-reading what you've written can be great inspirational help also.
Keep in mind the following:
- It's never too late to change an aspect of your life. Career, weight, hair color, daily habits, etc. can all be changed.
- Obviously you can't go back in time to change a specific action on a specific date at a specific time, and kicking yourself over the past isn't healthy anyhow. It seems like you've done enough living in the past in the last couple of years and are tired of it anyhow. Live in the present moment and plan for the future.
- Focus on one small thing or a couple of things at a time. Remember that you cannot change everything overnight. Pick something that you want to start with and change that. After you get used to that, change something else and then give yourself time to grow adjusted to the next new change before moving on.
Again, congratulations and good for you! I hope that some of what I said is helpful. If you want any clarification or further suggestions, feel free to contact me. And keep us posted on how it all goes!

Well, you have done the very first step to change.
Thats to have the resolution to change, the need the urge. now all u have to do is, to put it in action!
If i were u, i wud do all the things ive missed in that many years of my life. The things ive always wanted to acomplish. it can be a small silly thing, like to eat japanese food with someone special or to go window shopping u havent been doin so long or maybe a vacation? anything at all. As long as it is significant to u!

Changing your life is something you'll ultimately have to look inward for. Nobody can answer this question for you, and by saying that you want to change your life means you must of come to some conclusion that you really need to rexamine yourself and your own personal goals. Change is good, but don't loose track of who you are.
Sorry, the answer to your quesions is just not that easy, and the best and only real answer will come from within. =)

If you want to change then you think your life has been a failure in part. So sit down and write about your successes and failures and then you may not want to make a drastic change. You may also write down what you want from life. You may find that your life has not been as bad you first thought it was. Even if you wanted to change it may not be a complete change that you want.
Such changes in direction are normal

Figure out who you are and go with it. Find something you don't like about yourself and get rid of it or correct it or what have you. And if you have trouble figuring out who you are(most of us still ain't there yet) try something new every chance you get - you'd be surprised how much you didn't know about yourself, like foods you like or intrests you didn't know you had. Above all, live with no regrets and have a good time - this is the only chance that you get, at least with this SSN. ;p

Move to a far away place where no one knows you, preferably to another country. This will give you an opportunity to start anew without the familiar influencing surroundings and people that will not let you change.

Be strong to forget that past. Be with so many friends that will remind you that your life hasn't ended yet... How about some travel? Or do a job that would require a lot of hardwork just to forget everything...
