-israel had a peace agreement with the lebaneese in 1949.
- israel violated the agreement
-israel invaded south lebanon in 1982 , 5 years before Hezb-ALAH was even born.
- 1987 Hezb-ALAH was born as the major lebaneese RESISTANCE group in the south to fight the israeli invasion(so they r not terrorists).
-after13 years of fighting the israeli invadors ,Hezb-ALAH managed to kick the israelies out of most of the lebaneese land ,exept SHABAA FARMS(a part in south lebanon),which israel didnt get out of it,
- Hezb-ALAH kept fighting the israeli invasion to free this last bit of the lebaneese land,by firing rockets into israel & the israeli forces to force them out of Lebanon(freedomfighters).
-Israel has captured a lot of Hezb-ALAH fighters as war prisoners,
-Hezb-ALAH went & captured 2 israeli SOLDIERS as war prisoners also to exchange them (very normal reaction from Hezb-ALAH).
-israel destryoed all lebanon&massacred 1000s of unarmed CIV&KIDS

Excellent question ! You'll get the typical stay the course in the war on terror response. I wonder if Canada invaded Idaho in an effort to rid them of polygamists who threaten traditional marriage if that would be considered a victory in war of the conservative on the liberal ? I think we are redefining military actions and their limits under this administration. Here's the problem Hezb'allah is the provider of social services in Lebanon and has Representatives within the Government. You can not separate the one from the other in that culture. That's the problem. Now what you have is an entire nation who views Israel as the terrorist and growing sympathy for Hezb'allah. I've heard a United States commentator call Hezb'allah's offer to give money and help rebuild, a public relations stunt and challenge where the money is coming from. The problem is that's what Hezb'allah does they are the social services of Lebanon and they most likely will as a result of this have a recruitment surge. I've never seen an administration so stupid on international affairs and so without regard for others cultures. They condemn Arabs but Jewish woman in Israel suffer under many of the same oppressions, Arabs did not invent the idea of kosher pork.

Hezb-ALAH was very stupid for capturing those 2 soldiers.
That is the same as walking up to a lion and slapping his face.
The Lebanese people should demand that Hezb-ALAH get out of their country and repay Lebanon for all of the damages that occurred because of Hezb-ALAH's stupidity in provoking Israel.
What will Hezb-ALAH do next?
By the way, Hezb-ALAH hasn't managed to kick Israel anywhere.
It is very obvious to even a casual observer that Israel has used herculean restraint in the past month.Israel possesses the power to permanently end the threats that surround them.
It is to Israel's credit that they haven't simply dropped a few Neutron Bombs on carefully selected targets.
**Special to the long-winded one "Biomimetik ".**
That is certainly a large amount of people who have lost their lives. What exactly does it take for the muslim nations to realize that when they play with fire they will get burned?
Leave Israel alone, and Israel will leave you alone.

Shabmafros,

Logic should rule the Middle East.
However, in reality, logic is far from
being a 'measuring/comparative' instrument,
to be used in this scenario.
There is so much involved here,
so many injustices and wrong doings
from all sides, for so very long.

Having said that, this is one time, in which
I have had a very hard time understanding
Israel's actions. Could they have been waiting
for an opportunity to 'delay' the progress of
Lebanon. If so, they miscalculated miserably.
I do not condone Hezbollah, nor any terrorists,
therefore, in this action, both Israel and Hezbollah,
in that order, behaved like terrorists.

Lebanon and its people have been destroyed,
and as a democratic country it was
violated in every aspect.

I'm quite baffled by the answerer denying
fault as Israel gave notice before bombardments -
goodness gracious, great balls of fire, let us
keep that one for future wars -- if you announce you
will bomb away, then you are allowed and excused.
How very sad -- that one statement truly summarizes
how people can get away with murder.

This is one time Israel should be made to answer for
their war crimes.

i don't see any thing in your statement about the violence directed at the israelis.

i have found that people that preach hate begat hate.

and that people that live and let live have peace. i am not defending either peoples, but, it is noticed that religous zealots are the cause of many if not ALL of the problems in the mid-east region.

logically though, if i am in my yard and there are fire ants that are in my neighbors yard that swarm and bite me when i am in my yard, i will ask my neighbor to move or eliminate the fire ants, heck i will help him/her do it. but if my neighbor refuses, am i suppose to not use my yard? maybe let those fire ants bite my toddler? hmmmm.

on the other hand the fire ant is just doing all that it knows, it is just a fire ant!!

okay, there has been a lot of wrong done all the way around, there has not been peace in that area for a long time and all because of religion. maybe the UN should outlaw religion in that area until those people that insist on fighting admit is because they like the killing and not for god.... in the old testement the commandments are followed by both religions. doesn't is say thou shall not kill....... hmmmm i don't see an exemption there except for when a zealot say too!!!

Hezbollah killed 241 American marines while they slumbered in their barracks in 1983. They are the terrorist whether you believe Israel was the first to attack or not. "If you are a nation that aides, supports, and or HARBORS a terrorist organization YOU are an enemy of the United States of America.". A few months post 9/11 GWB spoke those words when he addressed Congress, Judiciary and the Senate. Even the far left liberals arose to their feet to applaud removing their candy coated butts from the wax paper protected seats. The ovation lasted for minutes. Oh how soon we forget.

Let's just look at the current situation. First strike goes to Hez.
They kidnapped Israel Guards, and fired a boat load of missles into Israel.

Israel reacted. Lebanon is a victim of the Hez actions as well as Israel.

PS: Iran may be part of the equation. They may be the puppeteer in this whole mess.

Gosh! That question doesn't seem biased at all!

It's a good thing I am not the defense minister for Israel. I'd nuke every single country that rings Israel. It would be a marked improvement for the real estate, that's for sure.

So the land would be too dangerous to inhabit for centuries...it's one way to keep the terrorists away from Israelis.

Yes tell me, who is the real terrorist. The people who give ample warning that they are going to bomb an area and that all civilians should get out or the people who purposely fire from civilian areas so that in retaliating civilians are killed.
Can you tell me that Hezbollah has never violated a peace agreement? They don't even want to hear of one now.

The only time Israel has invaded its neighbors is in response to attacks on their own soil, killing and kidnapping, etc., The governments of their neighbors won't or can't stop it so Israel has to do the work themselves.
