If the abuse is physical, first learn to find a way to avoid coming into any physical contact with the abuser. If you currently live in the same house, this may mean either you leave or the abuser leaves.

If the abuse is mental, learn to protect yourself from the mental abuse using psychological barriers and physical barriers to prevent the mental abuse. Also, over time try to understand the person and change your attitude towards the abuse. Make a joke of it, at least to yourself.

If you do nothing the abuse may continue, it also might stop for a while. Defending yourself from the abuse is not misbehaving.

In the event of being abused and being unable to defend yourself against it, and being unable to remove yourself from the situation, you are going to need to seek help to stop the abuse. This could come from within a family, or outside. If your whole family are the abusers, then one day there is going to be a flash point at which if outside society does not help you leave either your family or some random people will bear the brunt of your reaction to this abuse.

If the abuse is physical, defend yourself. Defend without loosing your control. If the abuse is not physical, give a suitable reply or just ignore the pla pla. One small story. One Master called Ashta vakra once entered the court of King Janaka. The entire court including the king, laughed at his physical appearance (his body is twisted in eight parts). Ashta vakra replied, "O king, the entire court is seeing only by skin and flesh. Hence they are only coblers". He has not lost his control.
Mind it. Opponents' aim is just to make you lose your control. If you do, you hurt yourself.

I don't understand people here who just say that people need to just "defend themselves" when they're being abused. Like while that may be true, dealing with abuse is serious and doesn't need to be handled alone. Get help from other people if you're being abused. Seriously. Don't handle things on your own. That's stupid.

Eyes for eye
The whole dents line for a tooth.
I don't follow Jesus' line "turn the other chick, because Christians do not follow it either.
If he tries to hit you , defend yourself and nail him on the ground.
Hit him so hard that he won't be in position to return your hit.
Give him a hand to go as far as the bed to have a rest and give him the medi-kit.

when u ask this, one can easily read ur soft nature. If u r really rude in temper, u won't have this much patience to raise this and react. If i were u, i won't change my character for each and every sort of person. Better stick to ur morals and be what u r

I think the main objective would be to remove yourself from the situation as fast as you can.

It has nothing to do with manners and lots to do with self-preservation.
