This is how it used to be, until so called BUDGET flights were invented. Now all food and drink on flights is relatively bad and expensive! I agree with security, but airlines will definately take advantage of that? So onboard food and drink should be free!

I'm not tight, it's just appalling the price of the crap food they offer. I heard on the t.v that they were even thinking of banning purchasing food and drink at the stands near the departure gate...hence the question.

I've never had space food!.... impressed...
I think security should be really tightened now... and only baggage should be allowed on flights- people should be forced to go by car, train, or foot!
Drivers would be permitted to offer lifts to any muslim they liked, avoiding those of them who ask if it would be ok if they washed their hair in transit....

Food and drink are not banned, you just cannot bring them with you. You are, as I understand it, allowed to buy food and drink once you have been through the checks and reach the 'duty free' area, because those items have been checked.

they should provide baby essentials packs with those tetra pack, ready made baby milks in a range of brands, and with nappies, dummies, wipes etc available for purchase. this would have been useful before the terrorist alert as there is nothing worse than going on a flight with an infant and realising you forgot their dummy.

Read "Air Babylon" . Imogen Edwards-Jones.... it will answer ALL of your questions and you will never ever want to fly again, not least accept anything from the cabin crew free or otherwise..... I've taken a sudden liking to ships!!
