Although it is fun to see the character move around in flashy colors and hear the sounds they make in general I perfer the manga. In a lot of cases the manga and Anime have differences, but usually not overly major changes. Some animes how ever are completely different due to some censorship, changes to appeal more to the public, or episodes catching up withe manga therefore needing to add original material. Anime do not alway finish with the manga series and often leave the ending open and hanging in mid-air. Manga tends to be slower paced and require some use of imagination to fill in the blanks in between.
This is a lot like asking what is better the book or the movie. They are both fun, but some just perfer one version over the other. There really isnt a superior format, its all a matter of perferance.

I prefer anime shows, because the truth is that anime is indeed more interesting, more visual, more captivating and intense than a simple read. But this is just a matter of tastes.
As for which one is better... It really depends on the series, their quality varies. There are plenty of manga series out there that have been turned into anime shows, which only ruined their initial plot. And there are also anime series who proved to be more succesful than the manga series they are based on. But some of them have equal value.

Manga is usually better, because a lot of anime just drags the story on and on much longer than manga. However, there are exceptions, like Cowboy Bebop anime is MUCH superior to manga.

Their are some good manga out their and american Anime is really bad but Manga is better!!

I love manga, because I can take it with me anywhere, and dissect all the artwork and storyline.
I also love anime when I want to hear music, see movement etc. Anime is preferable in the living room, manga everywhere else :)

i love both of them..
coz :-
anime,i dont have to read them,just sit there and watch the whole series without moving (i like to eat someting while watching anime..) mmm....that feels good!! (^-^)
for manga,the best is i dont have to spend much time to read them,i can do this when i'm free. [i watch the series at cartoon network,so i have to rush home to watch that show..=p] but manga is better than series,they have more details..

Well both are equally good. Manga series you could know the storyline more indetail but got not sound effect and stuff. Anime series, they sometimes shorten the storyline but interesting but sometimes will get confused. But there are movement and sound effect.

This question is sort of moot, don't forget that most anime series are created from popularized manga series.

I think anime is better i just like moving pictures to the standard picture
