why use mysql for web page?(and not use sql server?)

MySQL is free and many web hosts who offer PHP also add in a free MySQL database as well.

mysql is like a free version of sql, which can be used with php and other programing languages, most commonly with linux servers.

sql is most commonly used with windows servers with asp .net technology
