As long as u are in senses it is hard to be with out thoughts. Only try to replace bad thoughts with good one.

I wish I knew my self. Im constantly trying to stop thinking so I can sleep properly.
Occasionally I use Diazepam at night to sleep. it's an anti-anxiety so it should stop the mind ticking away.
Or watching a DVD or reading the right sort of book for you.

just be at peace and clear your mind.. it helps if u can distract yourself with something.. like thoughts of a river or waterfall.. or just stare into open space.. or into a field.. let your mind wander free!
