I have a trip coming up involving an overnight, cross-country flight to see family I haven't seen in over a year. I can't pack in my carry-on: lipstick, gloss, concealer, toothpaste.. basically liquid/cream anything! How can I still look good with these new travel restrictions?

I'm a guy, but when I saw this last week, the answer is obvious. As soon as you land, go get the stuff that you need and pack it on. I didn't see any restrictions in buying makeup once you were already at your destination.

As i do believe, all liquids and gels are a no no. I read that chapstick and lipstick are still alowed, along with pressed powders, eyeshadows and blushes. To keep a fresh nice look, i suggest applying your makeup right before you leave for the airport, or if you have enough time, in the car. Before you land, put on a little powder and lipstick, or colored chapstick, and freshin up your eyeshadow and blush if you use. Since no toothpaste, but some sort of a mint to get your breathe fresh. So really, all your without is lipgloss and mascara. Also, if you have oily skin, buy some clean and clear oil blots, which suck up the oil and wont smudge your makeup! Really hope this helps! Have a safe fligh! Good luck.

I just came from Rome and had the same problem. It pissed me off that I could not carry my makeup, but then considering that this was for my safety, I felt that it was justified and necessary. That said, you cannot take any thing (including powder) in your carry-on. The best thing is to use a self tanner to gain some glow or tan and then go on the plane. When you get your luggage, go to the restroom and apply your makeup before your family sees you.

For make-up: They make pressed powder foundations...and for lipstick...eat some red candy with a lot of food coloring in it.

For the toothpaste problem, they make these things called "Brush-Ups" which work pretty good. I've used them. It's just powdery minty stuff on a cloth that you brush your teeth with your finger.

Black eyeliner, black mascara and basic power foundation do me fine when I go on those type of trips. And they all fit into my pocket.
Who needs toothpaste when they have to little things you put on your finger and rub your teeth with XDXD

But really, on a plane, no one's gonna look at you. XDXD And when you land, run to the nearest shiny surface with your bags and apply haha.

as much as it sucks, you're just gonna have to put on the make-up before you get on the flight and then just pack non-liquid items (like powder, eye liner, blush) to do your touch up before you get off. for your lips, can you bring on chapstick? cause if so buy blistex liptones...its like make shift lipstick.
