there r two eids for muslims in a year. one is celebrated soon after month of Ramadan, for being successfully observing the whole month. its usually celebrated for three days. there is a specific amount counted per head of family members, called as Fitrana. its compulsory to be given to poors by the ppl who r financially sound. its given in the morning of firt day of EID. if some how missed, give it away as soon as possible.

2nd Eid is Eid Al Azha. thats celebrated soon after Hajj (pilgrimage to Khana Kabba). its celebrated in the memory of Ibrahim (God may pleased with him) obedience to Allah. we slaughter one animal on that day. goat or lamb or camel or a cow. upto your financial status. the meat is distributed in to three parts. one part is supposed to be distributed among poors n needies, 2nd part is for your relatives, friends (the poor friends n reletives r given importance) the third part u can keep for your own family or if wish to give away that part also among poors, depend on you.

on both Eids, special eid prayers r done in morning. the prayers are for whole mankind around the world. ppl usually say these prayers in mosques. so in so huge gathering its nice to pray for mankind.

on both Eids we make new dresses, there r family gatherings, treats and feasts, picnics, parties, exchange greeting cards, gifts, etc to express our happiness.

Eid means a muslim festival or celebration..
there r two eids in islam
1. Eid alfitr which is the the first day of the month Shawal, that follows immediately Ramadan.. this day comes as a reward from God to muslims for fasting the holy month Ramadan.. where they stop fasting and are encouraged to celebrate, wear new clothing, and give money to the poor..
2. Eid Aladha, is the 10th day of the last month in the islamic calendar Thu Alhejjah.. this day comes after muslims have performed Hajj also as a reward.. during hajj muslims are supposed to wear specific clothing, perform some rituals and abstain from certain things... the 9th day of this month is where muslims visit the mountain of Arafat and pray there.. its a bit of a hard work.. so the next day is Eid day.. it is the day where they celebrate but still have some Hajj rituals to continue..
