Queen Victoria was the longest reigning Monarch in British history. She reigned between 1837 and 1901, for almost 64 years.
On Accession Day (6 February) 2006, The Queen celebrated the 54th year of her reign. She turned 80 years old on April 21st of this year.Therefore she will need to reign for another ten years (2016) to surpass Queen Victoria's record, by which time she will be 90 years old.
