This article says that his step father was a minister, and that he was technically a Trinitarian, but in his beliefs he was secretly monotheistic (i.e. jewish).

These articles list a variety of topics:
that he was anti-Trinitarian :

belief the jews will return to israel:

Sounds to me like his biographers are guessing.

Phil A looks to set it out more beneficial totally. Sir Isaac Newton became surely a complicated personality who had many atypical recommendations. Many historic characters did not have 'religions' as all of us recognize them conventionally.

A Biblical Unitarian
Basically, they don't believe in the trinity.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unitarianism
"God is one being who consists of one "person"—the Father. Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God, but generally not God himself; the Son may be a pre-existent being (Arianism), the result of the union between the Divine Logos and the human being Jesus, by which Jesus became God himself (Servetism), or Jesus after being filled with the Holy Spirit (Socinianism). "
note that Servetus was burned at the stake for this and for being against infant baptism.

Unitaranism. He was a prophetic unitarian. Unitarians are characterized by some as being identified through history as free thinkers and dissenters, evolving their beliefs in the direction of rationalism and humanism.

newt was a lapsed mormon. when he was a young man he was hit on the head by an apple and forgot which church he belonged to. it wasn't until several years later that he remembered that he was a church goer and when he tried to get back into fellowship with his brethren he was refused repatriation and he just gave up on the whole thing and decided to go out and discover gravity.
hope i have shed some light on this enigmatic latter day saint Gb

People like Newton do not have religions like the masses!
They do not believe, they search for Truth, while religions do not want such!
