Lou Reed was the main singer, and songwriter, but he did not do all the vocals. The singers on the various VU LP's were:
Nico and Lou Reed on the first LP, "The Velvet Underground & Nico"
Lou Reed on "White Light, White Heat" - apart from on The Gift, which was narrated by John Cale
and Lou Reed and Doug Yule on "The Velvet Underground", apart from on Afterhours, which was sung by Mo Tucker.
Lou Reed and Doug Yule on "Loaded".
People generally forget that Doug Yule did a lot of singing on the VU records - he's the one with the higher pitched, more innocent sounding voice.
