there's actual evidence, unlike religious theory.

Truth is a big word. Consider this:

- It is consistent with observations made in nature
- It has made predictions about the existence of species, that has later been verified
- It predicted the function of DNA
- All opposition to Evolution is based in religion, although Evolution says nothing about God

So, perhaps there's a better theory out there. It will, however, have to *completely replace* Evolution in every way. Intelligent Design/Creationism, for instance, is not even a contender. Most likely, Evolution will be gradually refined just like any other scientific theory to better approximate the truth. Don't be confused by the 'theory/fact'-controversy, that's just semantics.

Stop this discussion about "truth" ! It sounds so religious on a science site (no disrespect intended).

Darwin evolution is self consistent with enough genuine evidence to make the scientific conclusion that it has been the prime driving force behind species development on this planet. That is it! It is a scientific theory that blends well with the facts. It is accepted by science unless a better theory can be developed and demonstrated.

THAT IS HOW SCIENCE WORKS!

Yes. Take a look at life. We are the same. Religions cloud that fact and so many people believe we are not the same, but better. No, we are not better than any other life form throughout the universe. We just look different with different qualities. As you observe all life around us, you'll find proof right there that Charles Darwin is in fact very right. I could go on and on but bluntly, the answer is yes!

There is not proof. It is only a THEORY!!!! There is a fine like between fact and theory. A fact is something that has been tested and has been proven to work or exist. An example would be the Bible. Ancient scholars wrote what they saw or experienced, then they gathered together and put all their knowledge together thus creating the bible. A theory is just what someone might think has happened or will happen similar to a hypothesis. Theories have no proof, that is why they are called a theory.

My opinion - evolution with a little e, yes - big E Evolution, no. In other words, there is change within a species, but not between species. There is no evidence in the fossil record that any animal developed into another type of animal altogether. There are other big problems in Darwinian evolution too, like the eye. How can something that complex come about by random chance?

It is impossible to know whether or not it is true - a definitional characteristic of theories is that they are strongly corroborated by scientific evidence and observation, but they are not absolutely proven.

As has been said multiple times above, it's really up to you to decide whether or not you find the evidence supporting the theory of evolution to be particularly convincing.

That depends on who you ask. The people who fancy themselves Atheists will tell you yes. The rest of us who believe in God or at least some form of a higher power will tell you no, because we have faith. The Atheists will just have to wait until they die to find out what the rest of us already know.

I tend to think it is, but then, that's just how I feel about it. The next person might feel very differently.
You need to decide for yourself what you as a individual choose to believe in.
