the light in my stereo is dim sometimes in my 2002 pontiac grand am?

i drive a 2002 pontiac grand am and every now and than the light in my stereo is dim than it will light back up normal, is there something wrong with my car that could cause this?

If ti's a factory radio then that is normal as they have dimmers built in so that when you turn on the head-lights it will auto-dim so as not to blind you.
