You should mostly focus on the sound quality. No one will question your ability to match or lack of it if you play very well. The reason that the a saxophone is sometimes silver is because some people prefer the tone you can get with it instead of the gold saxophone.

Besides, who in the audience will have that good of eyes to really notice that so much? Do whatever it takes to have good tone and perform well.

Also, you may become a legend for having a mismatching saxophone and mouthpiece if anyone would notice! Good luck!

Well it depends on what you're concerned with. If you want to know if it'll LOOK good, I don't really see why not. Music is about listening, not watching, but I would certainly understand your concern with appearance (I just purchased a black laquer soprano and it's gorgeous). But if you want to know if it'll SOUND good, that depends on the type of mouthpiece. I'm guessing since it's silver-plated that it's a metal mouthpiece. If that's the case, it depends on what type of music you're playing. The soprano is a rigid enough instrument as it is and it takes alot of experience and dedication to produce a good tone. I would have to say you would definitely not want that setup for classical rep....ever. And I can't say I've seen that kind of setup much in jazz either, on a soprano saxophone anyway. As long as you can produce a tone that doesn't make the listener's ears bleed then try it. Just use good judgement and maybe get the opinion of an accomplished saxophonist in your area to see what they think when you play. Good luck!

i'm not sure what your question is. interior the gold vs silver plated connector debate, the earnings of gold is that it will no longer corrode so it provides a sturdy connection for longer. On any connector, you like the terrific electric powered conduction you will get. If a cable is sturdy adequate for the interest you like it to do, paying for a greater high priced cable won't make it try this interest any further clever. in case you like the better skill of a some distance better spec cable, then needless to say the decrease spec cable does not be suited. A circuit is not greater clever than its weakest link, whether that's an insufficient cable or a undesirable connector.

Of course. And don't forget to put a bronze band-aid on your forehead too to match along.
