My only guess is that they see that this look is especially flattering on thin women, and assume it would look nice on them as well. Also, I think it looks better in the morning, looking at themselves in the mirror with their stomach sucked in and the pants positioned just right over their bulge than it does later in the day.
It will be a happy day for all when this look goes out of style.

EEEEEWWWWWWW! I know what you mean. (I have a few extra pounds on me myself too but I try not to let my belly hang out). Even though it may not look nice, I actually think they have a more exiting life and don't have time to stop and think about looks. Instead of criticizing them, sometimes I actually envy them. They look so secure and confident not caring about the few extra pounds that they have on. Thank God they are not traumatized with the codes that society has on what a woman should look like.

When Iwas young & lookin gooood I wore the tightest clothes Icould squeeze into,the least & most revealing was the order O the day.
Now I'm old & fat so its baggy jeans & xxxxx T shirts.
No 1 wants to see my fat hangin out & I damn sure dont wanna see theirs!

some girls, believe it or not, dont think they are fat and are extremely confident, yeah its sick but so is seeing a skinny girl running around in a mini skirt with her butt cheeks hanging out and her boobies popping out of her shirt, but what can ya say? nothing, they wanna wear it so-be it. so just close your eyes.

These girls must have no friends.

fat or not.. it sucks to see girls have no respect for themselves and show too much then they really should. if girls truly want to then go for it but most girls do it for attention and it suckss cuz most people dont wanna see it
