Nope you didnt dream it. I have recently seen an advert on TV for this. I know it ran years ago but they must be re-running it.
They just dont make kids programmes like they used to!!
A weird and wonderful Australian children's show based upon Paul Jennings' books Unreal!, Unbelievable! and Quirky Tales. The author provided most of the early TV scripts.
The episodes featured the motherless Twist children - Linda, Pete and Bronson - who live with their father, Tony, in a lighthouse on the bleak Victoria coastline, and whose lives are imbued with fantasy, mysticism and flights of fancy. Other characters include the nasty Mr Gribble, their nearest neighbour, and schoolteacher Mr Snapper.
Three years after the first batch of 13 episodes, made by the 7 Network, a second series was made, this time for ABC, in which the barnstorming fun continued unabated. Because the child actors had aged, new children were recruited to play the main parts. (Also, Mark Mitchell replaced Frankie J Holden as Gribble.) Several years later the Twists were back once more with yet another new young cast and a good old dose of juvenile vulgarity to spice up the fantasy. The years had mellowed Gribble somewhat but his bullying son James added a fresh set of problems; and Dad now had a girlfriend, Fay, who became pregnant with his fourth child.

Have you ever, ever felt like this?
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?
Yes it was about a father and 3 kids who lived in a lighthouse, their family name was Twist. It was Australian, and a lot of strange things happened.

Loved it. I can remember a lot of the episodes. Didn't ghosts live in the lighthouse as well, and wasn't there an episode about a goat shitting diamonds?
