During the last days in the Führerbunker below the Reichskanzlei there was no more trust in anybody left in Hitler. His most trusted men (Göring and Himmler) both betrayed him during that time. So Hitler didn't trust in the poison he got from Himmler.
To make sure the poison was good he gave it to his beloved dog Blondie. And yes, Blondie died. Therefore Hitler knew the poison was working fine. But he shot himself. Eva Hitler (former Eva Braun) used the poison.

You think this cruel? So think about Mrs. Goebbels. She poisoned her six kids with the same poison. Five daughters and one son killed only because there was no more reason to life after the "dream" of the Third Reich was over.
A mother killing her own kids in cold blood is something we should cry about, not some dogs poisoned while millions died in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen, Stalingrad and London, Dresden and Kiew, Hiroshima and many other places.

Keep in mind that there was NOTHING good about Hitler. Here in Germany we still carry the burden of that time. And it was no great time, no great movement to safe Germany or the world. It was just madness!

Nobody has it right. Hitler actually had 5 German shepherds at the time of his death: Blondi and her 4 pups. Hitler was especially fond of one of these 4 pups and had even helped train the pup. Just prior to Hitler s death, Blondi was sacrificed in order to test he cyanide poison Hitler and Eva would take. After Hitler and Eva were dead, Hitler s dog handler, Fritz Tornow, was told to shoot and kill the 4 German Shepherd pups, Eva s 2 Scottish Terriers, and Gerda Christian s dogs. (Gerda Christian was one of Hitler s secretaries.) Fritz Tornow also killed his own dachshund, (Hitler s minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels even killed himself, his wife, and their 6 children.)

OK, we ve been told that Blondi was killed in order to test the poison. However, this was probably not the only reason why Blondi was killed because all the other dogs were also shot and killed. Why? IMO, all of these dogs were shot and killed because Hitler and his top associates figured that the Russian soldiers, who were just a few days away from capturing Berlin, would have likely tortured and orchestrated grizzly deaths for the dogs since Hitler s suicide robbed them of the chance to hang and beat Hitler (as those that captured Mussolini did). . (This was probably sound logic because the Russian soldiers would go on to gang rape many of the Berlin women. The rapes were so brutal that many women killed themselves afterwards.).

Hitler NEVER laughed or joked approximately what he did,however u need to keep in mind some thing. Not to be rude, but Hitler also ordered the deaths of millions of Jews, plus Homosexuals, Gypsies, Catholics, the disabled and mentally ill, the infirm, and many other groups. If he did kill his dogs, and I don't know if he did or not, I'm going to guess that is the least of his atrocities and horribleness.

He only had one German Shepherd, a dod called Blondi. When he finally committed suicide with Eva Braun on that last day in the Fuhrerbunker, he wanted to make sure there was no chance of the Russians capturing him, who were only a few hundred yards away from the bunker. So he had a cyanide capsule broken in Blondi's mouth to see if she died, and when she did, he went ahead with his suicide. He then bit into a cyanide capsule at the same time he shot himself in the mouth with a pistol.

Yes, it's true. He poisoned his German Shepard just before committing suicide himself. If he'd do that to an animal he loved, do you wonder that there was a Holocaust?
