how do you strengthen a robin's egg?

it is in perfect shape (minus the area that the bird broke out of) but it is very weak. i've mod podged one and that didn't work out too well, so skip that idea...

you might try putting clear finger nail hardener on it every where and if the hole is to much to patch, just try to make it strong everywhere so it wont crack anymore. lay the hole side down when you decide to place it somewhere and it wont be seen.
