Why are 99% of the questions here so utterly stupid and braindead? And why do most of them sound as if they had been put through an online translator, what with the bad grammar and all...and don't let me get started on the spelling. Does this site just attract really dumb people? Are you part of the 99% or the 1%? If you're the latter, I'll credit you the best way I can - 10 points.

How many times is this dumb question going to be asked?

I prefer your question/discussion opposed to most though, since you do have proper spelling/grammar and anyone who insults these people I'm in agreement with on any issue for the most par...

But yeah the last.. day I've been 'on' the questions are not nearly as retarded as they were a few weeks...

I believe Yahoo! Answers is just like life - full of stupid people. However there are smart people here, too. The grammar does bother me, though. I'm one of those few people who believes proper grammar is very important to society. I admit that some grammatical errors can cause much hilarity but that's when you can actually tell what the writer meant. Grammar was standardized for a reason; to make written things clear. And about the spelling... there is a spell checker here, people! Is is so hard to click the blue spell check link before submitting your document? Or is it that you are afraid to know exactly how many spelling errors you made? *sigh* To answer your penultimate question: no, this site doesn't attract stupid people in particular but neither does it attract smart people. I like to think of myself as relatively smart but who knows what that means? I think a lot of people who visit this site aren't necessarily stupid; they just don't take this seriously and try to give "funny" answers or questions originating from boredom rather than curiosity. Everyone has stupid moments. Perhaps Yahoo! Answers doesn't attract stupid people but rather encourages people to have their stupid moments on this site. Well, whatever the case may be - good luck in life and in finding a stupid-people-free zone!

I believe it would only be fair to iterate that I have not had the pleasure to be entertained by many here on this Yahoo channel that have an intellect to begin with. i.e. There are very few people here, for the amount of questions, that have displayed any significant amount of free thinking, abstract thinking, scientific thinking, critical thinking, or conscious thinking.

Therefore, if the participants who have been answering your questions are not a "thinking" contributor to the task at hand, then it would be also fair to deduct that there would be equally no ability or conservative perception to have a reason either.

Thus, it is possible in their frustration of not having a reason to answer your question correctly that they (the applicant), must regress to a focus on their current intellect which it has already been established, is not available for comment.

In conclusion, stupid replies and quotations are the only known current form to overcome the gross in-cohesiveness of perfectly good brain tissue.

Good luck in your search and have a great day!

You were obviously attracted to this site for some reason or other. I think that there are people of all different ages, and backgrounds asking and answering questions. I answered a question I thought to be dumb last week and recieved an email asking me why I responded so harshly. It turned out the person asking the question was fourteen years old. What may seem dumb or trivial to you may be of importance to someone else. I remember being fourteen. Your question is hateful.

its not really nice to call a person stupid because of their inefficiency in the english language.. you see some people here do not speak english as their mother tongue so you have to put that into consideration and the fact that some who just learned the language is better than REAL English speaking people (in terms of grammar and spelling) should also be given some appreciation. i also agree that some questions are really stupid (take note i said question not asker) it really depend to the users to answer them.. if u ignore those questions or report them as violations, then these people will soon be discouraged in doing it..

actually this is a site for everyone to ask questions about. so rather that quesiton to be stupid or intelligent, it does not matter. and also, if you are so smart, why dont you answer all their questions and be done with it.
and also, people type fast and sometimes words can get a little jumbled up so dont wine about it. GROW UP. at least you can identify what they are saying. geez! maybe your part of the 99% category you made.

Mona, I have asked myself the same thing over and over, Its hard to believe that some of these people actually own a PC.The spelling and grammar here are horrible. I can understand a typo, but there is a difference between, there, their, they're,your, you're,plain, plane, are, our, etc.Did these people fail or quit school in the 3rd grade?

I'm part of the 1%. Maybe we shouldn't be too hard on some of the people who submit questions. Maybe English is not their first language. But there is no excuse for the stupid, rhetorical, chatty, and filthy questions.

I agree implicitly. Although, I try my best not to be judgemental..some of the 'questions' are deliberately inane or racist. The Yahoo police should just eliminate such offensive queries. Fortunately, I belong to the minscule 1%.
