When you are in an accident (or more than one accident) with the same person driving, you subconsciously wonder if it was the fault of the driver. This happens even if the driver was not at fault - trust issues will develop because you were not in control of the vehicle. I was in several accidents with my mother driving when I was a child, and now I do not ride in her car as a passenger, ever. I have noticed that she still gets into a lot of accidents, and my kids don't like to ride with her. She has no ability to drive defensively, and so has no accident avoidance skills. This is not to imply that your mother is a bad driver, it's just one theory. Another possibility is that you have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, one symptom of which is tension and anxiety in situations that are identical or very similar to those that accompanied a traumatic event, or series of traumatic events. If you are not comfortable as a passenger in your mom's car, I recommend that you talk it out with her. Let her know that you aren't blaming her for any of the accidents you've been in, but the fact remains that they did happen and you are afraid that it will happen again. Maybe she will adjust her driving style a bit to reduce your anxiety, and maybe just talking with her about it will help. Another idea would be talking with a psychologist to help you overcome the fear. Good luck :-)

It's probably because she was the one in the car with you during both of those incidents. It's not easy to relax but for me the best thing is to pay attention to other things. Look out at the sidewalk for cute people or see what you see in the clouds. Tell your mom you get nervous and explain that it's obviously not her fault. She might have some suggestions or drive a little more cautiously to help you relax. It can help if you change other details of how you ride in the car. I sit with the seat back a little further and the headrest a little higher and that changes how I feel.

Canadians do not favor to be people. in any respect. Ever. we are different international places, with categories of people that initially shaped them. those first non-natives have left their mark on the societies of each and every, or maybe as particularly similar on the exterior, there are genuinely some basic adjustments. E.g., your statement we are a "white" united states. we do not see it that way - in reality, to label a people by way of their colour is seen extraordinarily distasteful in Canada. we are formally multicultural, and we include people inspite of colour. We by no ability fought against the natives; in reality, they were allies even as the U. S. tried to invade, and we both labored mutually to defeat the u . s . a .. each and every time. The founders of the u . s . a . were usually ardent Protestant Reformers, who were fleeing the united kingdom usually, and some different eu international places, for non secular freedom. So, the u . s . a . became very Protestant, or maybe as faith is way less significant at present, lots of the recommendations of those early people are nevertheless good. Canada became shaped via Roman Catholics (the French immigrants), and typically Anglicans, who are not a lot different. That has also replaced over the years, yet, back, the history subculture of Canada owes a lot to those early settlers to boot. the u . s . a . became born in conflict, and had a civil conflict to boot. Canada hasn't ever began a conflict with all and sundry. we are a really non violent united states, who's inhabitants will strive against like demons even as attacked, and then flow back to non violent lives. we've a a lot more beneficial recognize for authority than people do, and stay in a a lot less individualistic way. We proceed to be dependable to the Crown, even if we've our personal Monarchy (even if the Queen is likewise Queen of different international places, she is Queen of Canada, a special identify, and interest). This motives ability to go back down from above, particularly than up from the people, as interior the u . s . a .. For each day stuff, it makes little huge difference - our law enforcement officials supply speeding tickets only as yours do, yet, the ability comes from elsewhere, and that huge difference underlies all regulations right here. there's a lot more beneficial. Canada exists because Canadians choose it to. Any tries via others to regulate that quickly unearths that attempting to clutter with Canada is like attempting to poke a napping lion. pay attention even as it wakes up!

the same reason that you can make a dog salivate at the ring of a bell, it's called conditioning.

people can make animals do just about anything on command, if they punish the animal for doing the wrong thing, and rewarding them for doing the right thing

humans are the same. if you are "punished" (getting in an accident) enough, when the situation is right (you are riding with your mother) then your sub-concious will think it's going to happen again.

i know how you feel... i dont think that feeling will fade, because you dont trust her driving, if you just realize that the car hit you, and it wassnt your moms fault, maybe that will help, the weird thing is that you trust other peoples driving, just know that anybody can hit you at anytime, you just got to be cautious, its not ur moms fault,, just try to trust her driving again, and everything should be fine,, its the other drivers you shouldnt trust,,lol,,,good luck

Send your mom and grandma to driver's school. Sounds like they're accident magnets.

Because you go with your mom thinking "it is going to happen again " and maybe she is not a very defensive driver to many times to many close calls. With grandma she drive more carefully this is why you feel more relax with her . i think this is why.
