Everyone isn't really 'suited' to school their kids at home. But I COMPLETELY agree with you about the public schools! I hate to think of my youngest grand baby going to public school some day (she'll be 1yr old tomorrow). But her parents aren't Christians and wouldn't even consider the alternative (home schooling). I'm hoping/praying that will change before it's time for her to start...

But my daughters children will NOT go to public school. She/their father decided that long ago. The oldest will start kindergarten next year (she's been in Mom's Day Out for 3 yrs this year). She will go to a Christian school, not public.

Her mommy IS still considering home schooling but doesn't really feel like she has the amount of patience that it would require. But if she was to be able to do home schooling about 3 days a week and find a supplemental class the other two days a week, then she thinks that she might do OK with being her kids teacher.

In any case, there ARE many, many people who do this and as time goes on there will be MANY more. With private schools costing SO much more than public and public schools being so bad any more, parents are looking at the alternatives. And just like society in general, sadly our public schools are really going down hill.

the home schooling programs are growing by leaps and bounds. It will soon be commonplace for all but those who have no one suitable to teach them at home.
