Two high quality free games are America's Army or F.E.A.R. Combat. You have to download these. But if you want a free one that you don't have to download, try Madness Interactive(which you can actually download if you want).

Depends on what kind of game. There's hundreds of free RPGs such as Silk Road, FlyFF, Knight Online, etc. Also a pretty dope game is Space Cowboy where you fly around and epically battle as a cute lil jet.

well dude, there's a bunch of free games out there. Face of Mankind (http://www.fomportal.com) is one, don't play it myself, but i've heard good things. There's America's Army (http://www.americasarmy.com) which is a first person shooter. Maple story too, which is an RPG (http://www.mapleglobal.com)
